Suppose you normally wake up at 7 am. Set your alarm for 20 minutes earlier every day, and as soon as it rings get out of bed. Then you will have 20 minutes for yourself. Go to a private and comfortable area in your home, where nobody can see or interrupt you.

Find a very comfortable chair, close your eyes then think about all your fears/worries. Just think about them without judging yourself or others, and allow yourself to be afraid for those 20 minutes. As soon as the 20 minutes have passed, you stand up and begin your usual morning routine. Then during the day when you begin to feel afraid again, you tell yourself: thank you for sharing but right now I do not have any time to waste on you (fears/worries) and I already gave you 20 minutes this morning before I brushed my teeth. Bye for now and see you tomorrow at 6.40 am at our scheduled time.

Learn from experience and Keep Looking for New Opportunities to Grow

You must do it every single morning, at the same time, in the same room and sitting on the same chair, so that your mind gets used to thinking about your worries only at a particular time and place. Sometimes you will find it more difficult than others, because your mind will also think about happy things, but at this particular time you must focus only on your worries. If you have been on medication for a long time, Cloé advises you to speak to your Dr to discuss the the option of decreasing it gradually. Never stop taking medication or decreasing it without first discussing it with your Dr. If your Dr is not that open minded, you are always free to change your Dr to one who actually listens to you, and then he will be able to give you all the information so you can make a well informed decision. Cloé’s point is that if our mind can make us think negative thoughts, then it can also make us think positive thoughts.

Now that you are aware of how the mind works, you can control it. By doing so, you do not feel guilty when you have negative thoughts, because you actually have a scheduled time for that, (every morning for 20 minutes) when you allow yourself to feel whatever need those fears are fulfilling in you. There may be some guilt associated with these thoughts, if so it is helping you with some kind of guilt feeling you may have. Even if it doesn’t make any sense to you at this moment, you will not lose anything by trying. Cloé has been using these techniques in her clinic for a long time, and it works. It helped me then and is still helping me now. I Sincerely hope that you are brave and disciplined enough to practice it every day, because from my own experience it really works and helps you to educate your mind.
